GREEK OLIVE OIL
Olive Oil from Crete (Sitia)
Crete leads the islands in the international market. This island boasts seven PDO regions as well as a PGI. Koroneiki dominates here, as it does on the mainland, but there are some local varieties such as Tsounati in Chania, Throumbalia in Rethymnon and Hondrolia in Heraklion. The flavors of the oils are quite varied.
Olive Oil from Peloponnese (Corinthia)
Koroneiki olives thrive in the rocky, dry areas of the Peloponnese. In eastern Peloponnese, it is usually combined with the Manaki olive, yielding oils with subtle aromas of apples and citrus fruits and only a touch of bitterness and pepper.
Olive Oil from Thasos
It is beautifully golden-yellow in color and has a rich olive flavor with some spicy notes. Thassos olive oil has very low levels of saturated fatty acids and high levels of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids. The excellent flavor of this olive oil makes it appropriate for use in a variety of dishes and salads.

The green olive of Chalkidiki belongs to the variety “Chondroelia” & “Chalkidiki” of the species Olea Europea, which is unique in the world and has been cultivated for 2000 years. It is the largest fruited green olive among the Greek varieties.
